Last day of week 2, 2015! It's been an interesting, albeit frustrating, week. I began work on s Exercise 34 Practice Sheet: Style Imitation on Thursday, only to realize I still haven't chose what I want my style to be. I decided to go through my digital practices to this point and pick out what I liked aesthetically an what I enjoyed drawing. After a few hours of mashing it all together, I ended up with a nice version of one of my OC's, Rin. (Just a quick note: I'm REALLY lazy about backgrounds at this point. Added it to my "Things to Study" list)
The following day I dug through about a twenty artists I really admire and wanted to learn more about their technique. Since this exercise only requires 3, I narrowed it down (for now). The first of the three was
I learned a few things about using opacity to layer my brush strokes, giving a very pleasing look to her hair. I couldn't quite get the skin tones and highlights right, but I didn't want to butcher it. I hope the final piece does justice to his style. Currently working on artist #2, Already I'm finding her very clean and pleasing line art hard to duplicate.
The last four days consisted of playing with my new .05mm mechanical pencils. Created a sketch in 2H, then followed up by detailing with HB. I have to say I really like the way it turns out, but I'll have to work on my smudging problems.
So this week will be a continue of my skull studies after I finish the Style Imitation Exercise. Perhaps I'll even repeat this exercise a few times with other artists! I have to say I love the opportunities this site provides.

Reset Day
Today is official reset day. I am starting everything over, everything new as of today. Anything in my past I long for but have not achieved will be erased. I will shoot for the starts, and I will reach them. I will focus on the future by effecting the present. I'm hoping by sharing this with everyone everywhere, I will keep this motivation, and drudge through the muck I must still rid myself of and finally rise to be what I want to be. Please, hold me accountable to this end. I will motivate me to keep on my chosen path.I will post art here at least once a week, if only my WIP of what I'm doing.I will set aside at least an hour a day to focu

Happy New Year's Eve
The last day of the year. Today naturally is a day of reflection. We look back at the past year and see what has happened: where we've achieved, where we've failed, how we've learned, and who we've lost. We see what it is we have forgotten, and resolve to make it right. This New Year, I hope you all reach your goals, meet your resolutions, and find time to enjoy life.
Ever want your own Hellstead?
